Preamble

A significant number of jobs in the market are linked with skilled based business education with emphasis on the latest concepts of accounting, finance, supply chain, banking, taxation and office management etc. Hence, there is a huge demand for skilled based education to cope with the needs of industry. Professionals, mid-carriers and even new entrants need to acquire such skills.  In this regard, Quaid-i-Azam University intends to launch a one-year Diploma in Business studies.  The idea is to equip students with the required applied skills of industry. It will be a comprehensive diploma that will cover the basic and advanced applied skills in the fields of accounting, banking, taxation, supply chain and office management etc.  The key points for designing the contents of diploma in Applied Business Education are given below.

  • The Diploma in Applied Business Studies will consist of six to eight modules, each focusing on a skill-based education to foster the analytical skills of students.
  • Each module is designed as an independent learning unit, allowing students to obtain certification upon successful completion of a module. A full diploma will be awarded upon successful completion of all modules. While the modules will progressively build on knowledge and skills, not all modules will require prerequisites, allowing flexible enrollment and certification options.
  • The program is open to a broad range of participants with minimum Intermediate education in any field. It can be equally useful for industry professionals seeking to enhance their competencies in business education.

Terms & Conditions

  • The assessment committee of Quaid-i-Azam University keeps the right to accept or reject any proposal.
  • The decision of the assessment committee of Quaid-i-Azam University will be acceptable to all parties.
  • A non-refundable processing fee of 5,000 PKR will be submitted in the form of bank draft in favor of the Treasurer, Quaid-i-Azam University. 
  • The lectures recorded at Quaid-i-Azam University will be the sole property of Quaid-i-Azam University. However, the lectures will be used as per agreed terms between the resource person / partner organization and Quaid-i-Azam university. The resource person / partner organization cannot use these recordings for any other purpose or for  other organization.
  • Both parties will sign an agreement before processing the received applications.
  • The certificate of passing program or a course will be issued by Quaid-i-Azam University with its logo. However, the credentials of the partner organizations can be mentioned on the official website of Quaid-i-Azam university and during media campaigns.
  • The partner organization will not issue any certificate / letter of appreciation or reference letter to the students.
  • Quaid-i-Azam university will be responsible for the media campaign of all programs. The partner organization will not launch media campaigns at its own. However, collective media campaigns can be launched, as per agreed format.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities of the Resource Person(s)
  • Timely recording of all lectures, as per the schedule issue by Quaid-i-Azam University.
  • Timely assessment of assignments, quizzes, exams etc.
  • Quick reply to all queries of students and Quaid-i-Azam University.
  • Update the lectures, if required.
  • Give assignments as per the schedule announced.
  • Take quiz / exams as per the schedule announced.
  • Provide teaching material as per the schedule
  • Conduct tutorials / interactive sessions with students, as per the scheduled announced, if any
  • Assessment and grading of course / module, as per the format of Quaid-i-Azam university
  • Timely submission of marks / result to the Quaid-i-Azam university
  • Participating in initial orientation sessions conducted by the Quaid-i-Azam university. This will  familiarize the resource persons  with the LMS platform, evaluation criteria, and administrative procedures.
  • Maintaining confidentiality of student information and academic records.
Responsibilities of the Directorate of Open & Distance Learning
  • Issue semester schedule and schedule of classes.
  • Facilitate resource person for timely recording of all lectures,
  • Timely uploading of lectures and other material
  • Compilation of the overall and semester wise results of all students
  • Declare semester wise and overall results
  • Collect fee
  • Advertise the program on print and social media
  • Announce admissions and admit the students, as per criteria approved by Quaid-i-Azam university.
  • Correspondence with students, regarding shortage of attendance, exam schedule, fee submission, disciplinary matters and etc.

Duration of Engagement / Agreement

Initially for one Time. However extendable with mutual consent of partner organization and Quaid-i-Azam University.

Termination of Agreement

Quaid-i-Azam University has all legal rights to terminate the agreement at any time due to any of the following reasons:

  • Unsatisfactory feedback by majority of the students
  • Evidence based harassment by the resource person
  • Nonfulfillment of the responsibilities defined in section of Responsibilities.
  • Unsatisfactory report by the assessment committee of Quaid-i-Azam University.
  • Provoking students on political, religious or ethnic grounds
  • On harsh religious, political or ethnic remarks
  • Passing immoral and unethical comments remarks.

Deadline to Submit the Expression of Interest

  • August 4,  2025 (online submission)
  • The assessment committee will take 2 to 3 weeks for the evaluation of the submitted proposals.

Financial Details

Fees and Dues
  • Admission Form: 1,500 PKR
  • Admission Fee: 5,000 PKR (at the time of admission)
  • Registration Fee: 1,000 PKR (at the time of the registration of courses)
  • Security: 5,000 PKR  (refundable at the time of clearance)
  • Tuition Fee: 5,000 PKR  (per credit hour)
  • Course File: 1,000 PKR (per credit hour)
  • Examination Fee: 1,000 PKR (per credit hour)

Note: The suggested amounts are subject to the approval of the statutory bodies of Quaid-i-Azam University. Finance & Planning Committee of Quaid-i-Azam University can revise / change the suggested Fees and dues

Honorariums Fees and Dues

8a.      Lectures are recorded by the Directorate of Open & Distance Learning, QAU.

  • Resource person / Partner Organization:                60% of the collected tuition fee
  • Directorate of Open & Distance Learning: 30% of the collected tuition fee
  • Respective Department of QAU, if any: 4% of the collected tuition fee
  • Quaid-i-Azam University:                6% of the collected tuition fee
  • Admission and Examination Office of ODL: Fee charged on account of admissions, registrations & and examinations

Note: Recording facilities will be provided by the Directorate of Open and Distance Learning, QAU and the resource person(s) will have to follow the issued schedule.

8b.      Lectures are recorded by the Partner Organization / Resource Person.

  • Resource person / Partner Organization:                70% of the collected tuition fee
  • Directorate of Open & Distance Learning: 20% of the collected tuition fee
  • Respective Department of QAU, if any: 4% of the collected tuition fee
  • Quaid-i-Azam University:                6% of the collected tuition fee
  • Admission and Examination Office of ODL: Fee charged on account of

admissions, registrations &

 and examinations

Note: The suggested amounts are subject to the approval of the statutory bodies of Quaid-i-Azam University. Finance & Planning Committee of Quaid-i-Azam University can revise / change the suggested honorariums. However, honorarium cannot be changed after signing the agreement.   The honorarium will be paid upon successful completion of assigned responsibilities, subject to clearance from the Directorate of Open and Distance Learning, Quaid-i-Azam University.
